Crescendo is a lovely design by Ilga Leja that I have been thinking about for quite a while.
When Trendsetter brought in some striking loooooong color run yarns, I thought they might work very well indeed and possibly with some beading as well.
And when Diane (aka dyeing2weave on Ravelry) expressed a willingness to do some test knitting....well, as they say, the rest is history.
Her project notes are quite interesting and can be found here.

Please get your pattern from Ilga's Ravelry page here or her website here. What we offer is gorgeous yarn and beads.

The Design
Here is what Ilga writes:
This shawl with flared ends is shaped like the musical symbol for increasing volume, the crescendo.
It does so with a series of short rows that add volume and drape, crating a shawl with unique shaping. The Filet Mesh Stitch Patttern defines the character of the piece.
The Yarn and Colorways
The yarn is from Trendsetter, their Gomitolo Molto, a long color run yarn made up of 53% Merino/ 47% Acrylic with each pre-wound cake having 200 grams - +/- 770 yards.
The colorway that Diane used is #610 Saltwater Taffy. It is a lovely southwestern-type colorway with golds and brown, lilacs and violets, aqua and blue. (Sorry, sold out.)
And added one more color option. This one is called #603 Wine Garden and I love it! I see blue and violet, lilac and lime, teal and butterscotch, not too bright (just right!).
Beads
Diane used about 120 size 6/0 beads, adding beads 12 on each side to accent the triangle. She told me that she felt that more would get lost in the design.
We wil include a few more than that in each kit just in case you need them. Again, you might like to refer to Diane's project notes for what she decided to do.
