We used to have a marvelous source for absolutely stupendous and unique beads from the Czech Republic. Alas, they closed their doors a year or so ago, but before they did, I managed to stockpile a goodly number of their special large daggers, the tie-dyed looking ones that have such an amazing look.
I have been wanted to put together a bracelet that sings of late-spring-into-early-summer, the greens that glow with life. And on going through supplies came upon these daggers.
These are rich greens, of varying tones, against a silver background and with some lovely iris highlights creating rainbows of colors as well.
I have often in the past taken the basic pattern design I'd developed for the various Flying Feathers Bracelets and I've used it for a number of bracelets where I wanted the daggers as the main players of the piece, dancing and moving as the wrist moves.
You can see photos here of past bracelets, shown so you can get a good idea of the look. And let me tell you, these have such a great feel on the wrist too....
So here we have a song to growth and living things as the seasons fly by.
For the 8/0 beads, I mixed a number of different color greens, some pale, some deep, some in between. The clasp will either be one of our special toggle clasps or a magnetic one for ease of putting on and taking off -- if you would want one over the other, just say the word. For the thread I like black for the drama, as well as the deeper green threads we have. If you have a preference, let me know.
Every kit will come with the thread, the clasp, plenty of 8/0 beads, and enough daggers to make a bracelet that is about 7 1/2" to 8". The original used size 0 US/ 2mm knitting needles (not included in kit). Unfortunately supplies are limited.
Unfortunately once these daggers are gone, they are truly gone. So know that this is an extremely limited piece.
The pattern is the same as for all of the Flying Feather Bracelets -- you have the option to get it or not via the drop-down menu.
We offer three options. I know some of you might already have made other bracelets that are made along the same lines, the only real changes being the beads and the colors. If you feel you do not need another pattern, simply choose "No Pattern Needed."
If you would like a printed copy, please make sure the "Pattern" drop-down menu is set to that.
We also can email the pattern to you, though I have to do it manually and usually send it right before I mail the kit (please be patient). Just make sure that drop-down menu is set as you would like before you check out.
