Another great design from Romi.
Inspired by the beaded wristers found in many European cultural traditions, Devana Pulse Warmers are a fun and quick knit that produce a lovely gift for a loved one or for yourself.
Make sure to use Japanese seed beads; they are very uniform in size and therefore will yield a better result.
Please plan to get your pattern directly from Romi's Ravelry Web Page here. What we offer is yarn and beads.
Yarn and Colorways
All that is needed is 100 - 120 yards (91 - 110 m) of fingering weight yarn and 1,080 size 8/0 beads.
Our yarn is not the same as what Romi used in her original. You can see our selection in the upper right corner of the top photo and again below that.
Ours is from Shibui, their Staccato yarn. Each skein has 191 yards/ 50g and is made up of 70% superwash merino/ 30% silk. It feels awesomely delicious and the silk makes it very strong.
We have a few lovely colors of Staccato.
1. Ash is a delicate silvery gray. (Sorry, no more available)
2. Deep Water is a lovely and rich blue, the color of a calm ocean.
3. Dusk is a mid-way between blue and purple, an indigo that is the color of the sky after the sun has dropped below the horizon. (Sold out, alas)
Our beads are all (always!) from either Miyuki or Toho of Japan, the highest rated bead companies in the world. Each kit will include a container holding approximately 35 grams which gives you about 1,400 beads.
For this project, my feeling is that beads that contrast would look best, so they stand out. I am thinking golds and silvers, perhaps a copper look, though a silver lined color that mirrors the yarn might also look very fine.
If you have a color preference for your beads, tell me. Otherwise I will choose for you.
