We are delighted to bring these kits back again!
This design really sings to me!
By Alexandra Davidoff, I Am Dragon is a (to quote the designer) a "scarf necklace."
Please be sure to get your copy of the pattern from Alexandra via her Ravelry page here. Our kit consists of lovely yarn, glowing beads, and a magnetic snap to be sewn on at the end.

Here is what Alexandra writes:
This design is a deeply personal project for me and was inspired by my love for mythology, J.R.R.Tolkien books, The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings films and, of course, Game of Thrones. So, if you have similar interests - this project is for you!
A few words about the painting that I use as an icon for this design - all I was able to find out about it that it’s Saint Margaret by unknown artist (ca. 1450). It reflects perfectly the mood of this MKAL and I am simply obsessed with it!
It is a triangular shape design. I think “Scarf Necklace” is the best way to describe this piece. This is one skein project, but trust me - it’s not going to be a boring one! Keep in mind that blocking plays a big role, so your piece will get into its final shape only after the blocking.
Note that Alexandra recommends highly that you have to hand a row counter, 14 stitch markers, a tapestry needle and a sew-on magnetic snap size 5/8”(14mm).
Yarn and Colors
This lovely piece requires 400 - 437 yards (366 - 400 m) of fingering weight yarn, or one skein.
We are not offering the same yarn that the designer used in her original. You can see what we have for the kits in the inset photos on the top picture on this page and again below that. Alexandra's photos are here to show the design and used with her permission.
You can see the projects knit with this pattern here. Wow and wow again.....
Our yarn is Paradigm from Trendsetter and is 95% merino/ 5% poly metal, with about 660 yards/ 150g.
The metal strands are soft and silvery.
Note that this will give you more yardage than absolutely needed. I love how the colors change gradually and feel that is a major plus for this design.
1. Blue Lagoon: these blues blend from the blue you see just before dawn, into lighter and lighter tones to end in one that has a whispered suggestion of pink.
2. Wine Barrel: deep wine into chocolate into rose. Rich and vibrant.
3. Pink Pansy: soft baby pink gradually morphs into a baby blue. Delicate and lovely.
4. Waterford Rose: blends gradually from a pink into lilac into wisteria into iris. Yum!
The designs as written has the optional addition of 150 glass beads size 6/0. We will, of course, include those in your kit.
Actually, we'll give you a bit more, around 20g which comes to about 240 beads, + or -, so if a few drop on the floor when the cat jumps on your lap you'll still be fine. :-)
They might be beads with a dramatic contrast or perhaps beads that pick up one of the colors in the yarn colorway. In any event, they will be catching the light in a most lovely way.
If you have a preference on bead color tell me. Otherwise I will choose for you.
I generally like beads that pick up some aspect of the yarn color; in this case that might include silver or any of the blue tones..
Each kit will consist of one ball of yarn, about 20g of 6/0 beads.
Please note: this is not a kit for Alexandra's newer design, I Am Dragon III. That one is larger and requires more yarn and beads. If you would like to set up a special kit for knitting that gorgeous third version, do contact me and I will work with you. The kit from this web page will make any of versions I or II.
