This beauty started out as a MKAL, though the mystery has now been solved and the final shawl revealed.
By Lily Go, this is Enchanted Rose.
The Yarn and Colorway Enchanted Rose is an asymmetric crescent shaped shawl worked from the bottom up. The pattern is worked on the both the wrong and right sides.
We do not offer the same yarn as what Lily used. You can see what we have in the inset photos on the two corners of the picture at the top of this web page, and again below that. The other photos show her original shawl.
Lily used a gradient yarn for her beautiful piece and we went with one from Freia. This is a fingering weight "Shawl Ball", of 100% US cruelty-free merino, with 430 yards (393m) per 100g ball. The yarn has been dyed in a very long color gradient and is already wound into a cake for ease of knitting.
Lily wrote the pattern so you could knit in your choice of three sizes. One cake of this yarn gives you enough for the small size and will make a wrap that is about 66" in wingspan and 16"deep.
If you want a larger piece, go for two kits.
There are two colorways you can choose between:
1. Valentine changes from a pale pink into a rose, getting richer and deeper as it progresses. (Or vice versa depending on how the cake has been wound or which end you start from.)
2. Blue Velvet morphs from a deep royal purple into a rich blue and then into a turquoise that lightens as it goes. (Again, it could be the other way around depending on how the cake has been wound or which end you start from.) (Sorry, out of stock.)
The beads are optional but adds so much to whole! As all that is needed is 250 size 6/0 beads for this smaller size we are including the beads (plus some extras) in each kit.
Lily includes instructions on where to place the beads
If you have a preference on bead color, tell me. Otherwise I will choose for you.
Pattern includes charts and written directions.
We strongly advise getting the pattern directly from Lily on her Ravelry page.
This will save it in your Rav library and ensure you get any updates as they are released. If you decide on this, set the drop-down menu labeled "Pattern" to "No Pattern Needed."
If you really would prefer a printed pattern, that is also an option. There are 19 pages.
Or we can directly email it to you. It is not automatic; I need to send it on. Generally I email it right before shipping your kit.
Just make sure to set the drop-down menu as you prefer.
