We were so pleased with this the first time we offered this kit that we just had to bring it back. The colorways are different this time around and oh-so-rich-and-lovely!
From Boo Knits comes her Evermore shawl, a beaded beauty that is the third pattern in her Into the Night Collection.
This kit will include the yarn and beads but you must go to get the pattern from Boo Knit's Ravelry page.
Here is what Bev writes:
Evermore is a top down shawl that is a little deeper than a regular crescent shaped shawl.
Worked in two complimentary coloured yarns, one a fingering weight and one a kidsilk mohair, it comprises a striped body that shows off both yarns individually and displays their differences beautifully.
These stripes lead to a beaded lace section that displays how one yarn can work and shine alone. The lace section seamlessly becomes a simple garter stitch edging that has both yarns knitted together.
Worked in Louisa Haring Pittura and Rowan Kid Silk Haze, this pattern is suitable for almost any fingering weight yarn and any kid silk mohair, working wonderfully with one variegated but tonal yarn and the other yarn a solid colour so that they work both singularly and together.
Our Yarn and Colorways
Our yarn is not an exact duplicate of what Bev used in her original but we conferred with her to put these together and think they will look awesome. We show our set of yarns in the inset photo on the top picture and again below that.
Where her shawl played with blues, ours is a blend of dramatic cool colors, including black and purple and teal with a lighter lilac mohair/silk. We show her shawls with her permission (by Boo-Knits) so you can see the overall design.
Our first yarn is indeed the same Pittura that Bev references above (75% wol/ 25% viscose, with 437 yards/ 100g) though the colorway is instead the one called Flaming June and is a really dramatic mix of colors -- black with purple and teal withsome lighter highlights.
Instead of Kidsilk Mohair, we brought in from Debbie Bliss her Angel, a 76% mohair/ 24% silk blend with 219 yards (200m) per 25g. The colorway is called Cloud and is a delicate greyed lilac which contrasts beautifully while still working with the colors of Flaming June
Each kit will include one skein of the Pittura and two of the Angel, enough for the small size of the shawl.
If you would rather knit the medium or larger size, contact me and if we possibly can, I'll set it up for you.
What is needed for this smaller size is 400 size 5/0 triangle beads and we will include a bit more than that in your kit.
If you have a preference on what color you'd like your beads to be, let me know. Otherwise I will choose for you.
Reminder: Get the pattern from Boo Knit's Ravelry page.
