There are only two kits left.
One more from Nim Teasdale, Far and Wide is a very simple knit that takes full advantage of gorgeous yarns.
Written to be adaptable for anything from DK weight to Super-Bulky, the shawl you see on these pages used just used 240m (260y) of a bulky weight.
What we offer in these kits are Aran weight yarns, two exciting colors that look great together. These are not the same as what Nim used in her original but we think they will look awesome.
Here is what Nim writes about the design: Far and Wide describes the shape of this boomerang not-quite-a-scarf-not-quite-a-shawl shape. It has long arms to wrap around for warmth or dangle casually over a shoulder, and a fun bandit style V neck for extra warmth where you need it.
Gauge is not critical and sizing is very flexible.
Each of our kits will include two skeins of Noro's Kama. This is a 26% wool/ 25% silk/ 25% alpaca/ 12% kid mohair/ 12% angora, with 82 yards (75m) per 50 grams. The colorway is simply known as #2 and contains the cool rich colors of royal purple, blue-violet, royal blue, Capri blue, black and a bit of rust.
The second yarn in our set is from the Fibre Company, and is their lovely Terra. This is a 40% baby alpaca/ 40% wool/ 20% silk blend with 98 yards/ 50 grams. Two skeins total of Terra (one of each colorway) will be in the kit.
In the Terra yarn we offer one skein each of two colorways.
The first colorway is African Violet, a soft lilac with blues highlighting it.
The second is Woad Light, a lovely sky blue with violet splatterings.
The pattern is not automatically part of this kit. Getting it via Nim's Ravelry page works well, as that way it is stored in your Rav library and you will get any needed updates. In this case, select "No Pattern Needed" from the drop-down menu.
If you'd prefer a printed pattern, we can do that too. Or we can email it to you -- just know that it is not an automated process but needs to be done by me. So expect it right before your kit ships.
