Our friend Catie took one skein of Yin and one skein of Yang and created Beauty with a capital B!
She used both yarns in the same color -- in her case both were ivory but we think there are some other colors that will look pretty spectacular too. She used the Yang (solid color DK yarn with sequins) for the edgings and the Yin (solid color DK yarn) for the length of the scarf -- and you should feel this! So soft and buttery and delicious!
Here is what she wrote:
"Lacy, light, and lovely, this luscious scarf captures the graceful natural beauty of feathers and ferns.
"The yarns are a joy to knit with!
"One has sparkling sequins, the other has sublime softness -- textures that are opposing-yet-complimentary --- thus the name Yin and Yang!"
We think it is divine!
We are thrilled with these yarns for this design but you can use any DK yarn for this. Or even mix up the colors -- do a teal body with deep black ends, perhaps. .
It is very hard to capture the glistening of the sequins -- you can kind of see them in the photo of the Yang itself. The addition of the sequins at the ends really makes this lovely.
Cate really made a wonderful piece here.
We are now offering this as a pattern and you can put together your own kit -- to make a beauty. We have the yin and the yang in a rich teal and also in a vibrant purple -- either of these colorways would be stunning!
