This cowl is simply stunning!
By Stella Egidi , the Firenze Cowl is (to quote the designer): "Inspired by the sought-after clothing of Renaissance noblewomen..."
Can't you just see it on Catherine de Medici as she strolls down the streets of Florence? :-)
Get the pattern from Stella's Ravelry page here. What we offer is your choice between two kits made up of Moonshine yarns for knitting this.
The Yarn and Colorways
Stella's original used about 225 yards of Color A and about 270 yards of Color B, worsted weight yarn. We do not offer the same yarn that she used -- you can see ours in the inset photos on the top picture and again below that.
Any who are not yet familiar with Moonshine from Juniper Moon Yarns is in for a treat! Made up of 40% Wool, 40% Alpaca, 20% Organic Silk, each skein has 197 yards (180m) per 100g.
I quote from the yarn's website:
This beautiful yarn lives up to its name! The organic silk content makes the colors glow, while the wool and alpaca are a buttery soft combination.
And as we got this yarn at a wonderful discount, we are passing the savings on to you!
We put together two combinations for your knitting pleasure:
Kit A will include two skeins each (so you will have plenty of yardage):
1. Groovy Grape is a lovely lilac almost-solid.
2. Pistachio is a delicious spring green.
Kit B (two skeins each):
1. Raisin is a rich mahogany.
2. This one is Moonshine Trios, same fiber content and yardage but it is a tonal variegated yarn. In this case, it is a play on lime and chartreuse and green called Meadow.
BTW, if you would prefer a different combo of colorways (for example, the Raisin with the Pistachio strikes me as also lovely), contact me and if we have enough stock to accomodate your aesthetic preferences, we'd be delighted.
