This one blew me away! When Catie showed me this scarf I put it on and she had to wrestle it off me!

Here is how she describes it:

"The name says it all!

"Flirty ruffles are created by working short rows as you go! Sparkling beads add a bit of glitz!"

She told me that as she worked on it, it just reminded her of a butterfly, as the ruffles formed, gliding in all their beauty along the edges.

Really lovely!

This scarf was made using two balls of Universal's Wisdom yarns in Limerick, the colorway we named Sunrise. Of course, any of the Limerick colors will look amazing here, as the gradual color transitions work so beautifully with the design. Alternatively, you can substitute another sport weight/ DK weight yarn -- figure you will need about 350 yards.

Along the edges are also size 6/0 beads, 520 total. Catie used a neutral silver lined crystal or you might want to have a bead color to complement your yarn color. If you would like suggestions, just email. Get some extra beads, as a just-in-case -- the cat might jump in your lap in the middle of threading, or there might be a few misshapen ones (though the ones we carry are the highest quality Japanese beads and the misshapen ones are few and far between).

Catie used size 7 US knitting needles (4.5mm), for a gauge of 16 stitches to 4" though gauge is not crucial for the success of this project. A different gauge, though, would mean most likely a different yardage needed.

A real beauty! Won't it be marvelous walking around with butterflies dancing on your neck?
