I really fell for Ursa Major Knits' new Fool on the Hill.
We put up two versions of a kit for it. One uses Zauberball Lace and can be found here.
This is one for those who would prefer a cotton blend and is based on the version she knit in Trendsetter's Gomitolo Denim.
I went hunting and found that there were almost no colorways left in this yarn even wholesale directly from Trendsetter. What I did was I selected two colorways and was able to get in a very very limited number to offer for this intriguing piece.
You can read all about the pattern itself on her Ravelry page here.
She writes: The shape of this shawl reminds me of a jester’s hat. And since I am a huge fan of the Beatles, the name “Fool on the Hill” came to mind. In these difficult times we all need a bit of humor, courage, and some lightness to brighten up our day. I hope Fool on the Hill will help you to find this.
What we have here:
Gomitolo Denim is a sport weight yarn made up of 80% Cotton + 20% Nylon. Each gradually changing colorway comes in a cake form (pre-wound) that gives 810 yards per 200g.
As there were so few of these yarns left we were able to get them at a discount which we pass on to you.
We are selling these as a set, one of each of the colorways we got, so that you will have enough to knit this beautiful shawl.
Your "kit" will consist of one cake of Lilac, gradually changing from a red-violet into a pink, and one of Black Ashe, going from charcoal into lighter and lighter greys.
Per what Chrissy wrote on her web page, she knit the Medium size using other colors of Lana Grossa Gomitolo Denim to make a shawl with a length at the bottom line of 61”/155cm and a depth: 24”/61cm.
This yarn set does not automatically include the pattern nor has its cost been included.
I highly recommend getting the pattern directly from Chrissy via her Ravelry web page. This will ensure that you get any future updates and also it is saved in your Ravelry library. In that case, set the Pattern drop-down menu to "No Pattern Needed."
Alternatively, if you would like a printed copy, please make sure the drop-down menu is set to that. It consists of four PDFs, covering the medium and larger sizes, both written and charted. As this is a lot (!!) of pages to print out, the cost is higher.
We also can email the pattern to you via email (just be aware that it is not automatic; I have to manually send it to you and generally do that right before shipping your kit).
