Here is a second set of yarns for Ursa Major Knits' Fool on the HIll.
The first set you can find here; it uses Gomitolo Denim, a cotton blend perfect for warm weather and anyone who prefers not to wear animal fibers.
This kit uses Schoppel's Laceball, four balls total, to will allow you to make a duplicate of the version you see on this page.
Laceball is 875 yards(800 meters) of delightful looooooong color runs, made up of 75% merino + 25% nylon.
Chrissy has used these for a Large Version, using two strands at a time to achieve a longer color gradient.
She used the colorways named Mittelland and Türkismühle and those are the ones we offer in this kit.
Her final size gave a length at the bottom line of 77”/196cm and a depth of 29”/73cm.
You will need two of each colorway (2 x 2 = 4 balls) to hold the strands double and achieve this size. And that is what will be in each kit.
The shape of this shawl reminds me of a jester’s hat. And since I am a huge fan of the Beatles, the name “Fool on the Hill” came to mind. In these difficult times we all need a bit of humor, courage, and some lightness to brighten up our day. I hope Fool on the Hill will help you to find this.
This yarn set does not automatically include the pattern nor has its cost been included.
I highly recommend getting the pattern directly from Chrissy via her Ravelry web page. This will ensure that you get any future updates and also it is saved in your Ravelry library. In that case, set the Pattern drop-down menu to "No Pattern Needed."
Alternatively, if you would like a printed copy, please make sure the drop-down menu is set to that. It consists of four PDFs, covering the medium and larger sizes, both written and charted. As this is a lot (!!) of pages to print out, the cost is higher.
We also can email the pattern to you via email (just be aware that it is not automatic. I need to send it to you manually and usually do so right before shipping the kit.
