From Boo Knits comes this lovely shawlette, Forever Yours.
The pattern should be gotten directly from the designer's Ravelry page. What we offer here is the yarn and beads for making it.
Here is what Bev writes:
Forever Yours is a pretty little shawl designed as a one skein wedding shawl that is scattered with beads highlighting the open and lacy design and works beautifully as a little shoulder cover and perfect for a bridal shawl.
Of course there is no reason to limit this to only being a bridal shawl. It is certainly lovely and not overpoweringly patterned.
The pattern includes three options to enlarge the shawl which help use up every last bit of the yarn you have and will allow you to make a larger version if you so wish.
Most of the photos you see on this page is of a deep blue shawl, knit by Mosil1949 (Rav name), and used with her permission. You can see other lovely finished shawls here on the Forever Yours Project pages.
The Yarn and Colorways
We did not bring in the same yarn as Bev used in her original. That shawl was knit from just one skein of Dye for Yarn Paper/Silk and measures 48 cm (19 inches) deep and 158 cm (62 inches) wide after totally thuggish blocking.
All that is needed for this size is 328 yards (300 m).
What we have is Silk Cloud from Shibui in two very un-wedding-like colorways. When I mentioned to Bev that we had gotten this yarn she recommended this pattern of hers. :-)
Silk Cloud is a 60% kid mohair/ 40% silk blend with 330 yards (300m) per 25g skein.
One skein will be included in each kit. If you want a second one to expand the size, please contact me. We should be able to set that up for you.
1. Velvet is a deep and rich wine -- absolutely gorgeous and with great depth to it.
2. Suit is another deep and rich colorway, this time an awesome dark azure. This is the sky right before sunrise, that rich midnight blue and has just that much light to it.
The original shawl that Bev knit (see last photo on this page) used about 500 size 5 Miyuki Triangle beads.
An interesting side note: Mosil1949, per her notes, for this lovely blue piece you see here switched to the smaller 3mm beads. And Bev, when we were "talking" via email, suggested for this yarn a size 7/0 bead which is kind of in the middle between these.
Your kit can include either 5/0 Triangles or 4x4 Cubes -- however, I prefer for this yarn the more delicate 3x3mm cubes or even the 8/0 hexagonal shapes. These will work nicely with the yarn (I tried them).
Your kit will include at least 500 (a bit more actually).
Really, if you have a preference on your beads, color or size or shape, by all means tell me.
Unless I hear otherwise, I will choose for you.
Remember to get the pattern from the designer's Ravelry page.
This pattern is both written and fully charted with bead placement indicated throughout.
