Nim Teasdale has come up with another set of gorgeous patterns, designed with travel knitting in mind.  Wonderful breaks from more complex designs, there are just plain fun and Nim's genius allows each to shine in its own special way.

Here is one:

Nim calls this one Gallivanter.  And describes it here:

Gallivanter is a dynamic zigzagging triangle for fingering to worsted weight yarn.

Ideal for pairing a busy yarn with a quiet yarn, or two contrasting solids. It also works well with long colour run gradients, handspun, variegateds and striping yarns. Or try working from both ends of a gradient ball by winding off half the skein and working from the middle. (The sample uses a rainbow gradient striped with a solid.)

It can be worked in half garter (knit every other WS row), full garter (knit all WS rows), or mostly stockinette (purl WS rows until final 2 repeats of chart, then work garter rows as per pattern).

Designed with travel knitting in mind, it uses a short formula which is easy to memorise so you can knit on the bus, the train, or while chatting at knit night.

Her shawl as pictured here was knit with about 330 yards of a 2-ply sport weight with extremely long color repeats in a lovely rainbow color and 315 yards of a solid color which contrasts with some of the colors of the other and sometimes blends.

Nim says that one can use any yarn from lace up to worsted weight, provided one adapts one's needles to your preferred density of fabric.
