A lovely new scarf -- or is a it a small-ish shawl? -- from Catie.

This design is all based on triangles. It starts with small border triangles which are connected by a large mitered triangle. As decreases are made, a beaded edge forms along the longest side. Plus you will make a cute little beaded "slider" to make the wearing easy -- no knotting needed.

This measures 25" on the two sides with all the great little beaded triangles and a generous 36" (give or take a bit) along the longest edge.

The photo to the right shows it as it would be worn, folded over the shoulders and closed with the small slider.

All you need is sock/fingering weight yarn, about 400 yards, and about 475 beads. Catie used size 6/0 for hers. You are going for a gauge in garter stitch of about 5 stitches to the inch -- size 6 (US) needles or thereabouts.

Quite a neat little piece. It will add a wonderful swathe of color and shine to your winter and help keep you cozy.
