A wonderful variation on Sivia's beautiful Gothic Leaf Stole, here is the Gothic Leaf Scarf!

This new version is both smaller and more interesting. It features two beading techniques, one at the edges and one in the lace pattern.

Perfect gift knitting!

You will need sock or fingering weight yarn, one skein or roughly 400 yards. Plus about 220 of size 6/0 seed beads. The beads are added both by pre-threading (a dental floss threader would be useful) and by the crochet hook method (you want one that is size 13 or 14, i.e. 0.6mm or 0.75mm).

Sivia suggests size 5 US (3.75mm) circular or straight needles or whatever will give you a gauge of 4.5 stitches and 7 rows to the inch blocked over the lace pattern. Gauge is not critical to the fit though it might affect how much yarn is needed.

If you would like any help selecting beads to go with your yarn, email us and we'll be glad to talk.

This is a lovely lovely piece -- the design is both charted and written out and should be a tremendously fun knit.
