Gwen's Garden is a shawl with a gentle curve to it, what is called a crescent shape as compared to a triangle with a point at the end.

Done with only 400 yards more or less of fingering weight yarn, the design has beads added (via the crochet-hook method) to make twenty-four lovely flower motifs.

Such a marvelous idea!

The Design

Here is what Sharon writes:

Surround yourself in Gwen. Deliberately placed colored glass beads create a unique floral pattern.

The pattern has both complete text and complete charts so you can work from whichever format is best for you. Also there are free She-Knits video links that will show you how to do things such as; apply beads with a crochet hook as well as how to work some of the rows within the pattern.

Yarn and Colorways

This design requires about 400 yds fingering weight yarn for the shawl itself.  Our yarn is not the same as what Sharon used for her original piece -- you can see our yarn in the inset photo on the top picture and again below that.

Our base yarn is from KFI, their Indulgence Kettle Dyed Fingering weight, 75% wool + 25% nylon with 494 yards (450m) per 100g skein.

The colorway is very similar to the original, being an almost-solid Wisteria.

Beads

For this design, one needs size 6/0 seed beads to make 24 flower motifs as follows; 240 purple, 216 green, 24 yellow.

And that is what we will be including in your kit --- with some extras of each!
