Teresa Morey is a designer I have just discovered and I am thrilled!  I am delighted to "introduce" her to any of you who haven't met her yet.

This web page is simply a skein of yarn that would be perfect for her Henrietta Silverdale design -- this is a cowl of textured stitches that I absolutely fell in love with!

Please be sure to get the pattern directly from her Ravelry page here.

Here is what Teresa writes about the design:

The design is inspired by Henrietta Silverdale, the heroine of the Georgette Heyer novel Charity Girl. Henrietta is practical with a lurking sense of humour and a softer side. She is first discovered in her garden, shown in this cowl by the twisting trellis and branching leaves of the lace.

Textured lace in worsted wool - the Henrietta Silverdale cowl is distinctive, pretty and practical.

Henrietta is worked in one piece in the round, meaning that every row is worked from the right side. The detailed design uses wrapped stitches, twists and lace to create a fascinating path from the base to the top of the cowl.

The pattern has both full charts and line by line written instructions. The sizing is adaptable and the cowl can be made longer, taller or shorter as desired.

The Yarn and Colorway

We do not offer the same yarn that Teresa used in her original. You can see our selection in the inset photo on the top picture and again below that.

Teresa writes that this pattern is best suited for use with solid colour or tonal yarns. The yarn she had used to develop the pattern had a yardage of 160 metres/174 yards per 100grams.  If one looks at the Project Pages, one notices quite a range of yarns working beautifully.

And so here we present from Malabrigo the yarn called Rios.  Of pure merino supewash, each skein has 210 yards/ 100g.

This webpage offers you one skein.

The colorway is Sunset, a wonderful golden amber.
