Another beauty from Laura Nelkin!

Designed around Schaefer Yarn's Helene, we feel that this lovely scarf will look wonderful in any heavy worsted weight yarn or equivalent (I could see combining two other weights of yarn for a wonderful depth of hue).

For ease in substituting, here is the basic data you need: Helene is a 50/50 blend of merino and silk, with 218 yards (200m) to each 3.5 ounce (98 g) skein. The gauge gotten in the original was 16 stitches and 10 rows to 4" usuing size 13 (9mm) needles.

This gave a finished size of 6 1/4" x 66".

The unique stitch pattern uses double yo's and slipped stitches to create a fabric with wondrous texture. The design is a relatively simple 12 row repeat. The pattern also breaks up the colors in the hand-dye perfectly, causing the colors to seem to move on the scarf's surface.

The pattern stitch is in both written and chart format.

We really liked the look of this one and are so glad to be able to offer it for a sweet project to curl up with.
