Only one kit left in stock!
Oooh la la!
A marriage made in heaven -- this lovely Impressions shawl by Ágnes Kutas-Keresztes plus some strikingly lovely DK weight yarn from Ella Rae.
Whoosh! I am blown away!
This kit will include the yarn, beads if you so choose, and but you must go to get the pattern from Agnes' Ravelry page.
Here is what Agness writes about her inspiration for this beauty:
Have you ever wondered how you could translate your favourite paintings into other artistic languages? What would they be like as photography, music or… knitwear?
The three crescent shawls of this collection were all inspired by famous paintings. Naturally, my goal was not to make shawls that looked exactly like those paintings but to use them as kind of a compass when deciding on colours and creating texture.
Each pattern contains charted and written instructions as well.
The Yarn and Colorways
You can see just from the design that the inspiration for Impressions was the amazing paintings of the Impressionist Artists. Though she shows one of Claude Monet's paintings -- see the last photo on this page -- as a major source of her idea here.
And notice how lovely her original shawl looks in a variegated yarn? Well, we have some striking speckled yarns that I think would please Monet!
These are not the same yarns as Agnes used when making her original. What we have for this kit can be seen in the inset photos on the top picture and again below that. The other photos (© Ágnes Kutas-Keresztes) are to show you the design and give you an idea of the look you will get.
The yarn is called Ella Rae DK and each skein has 100% superwash merino wool with 302 yards(276m) per 100g skein.
These yarns have been dyed in gorgeous colorways, with speckles and splatters. And in true hand-paint fashion, no two skeins are exactly alike. (We match them up as well as possible.)
Two skeins will be in each kit giving you well more yardage than needed.
This is the last kit we have for this beauty:
Winds of Winter: This starts with an ecru base and adds speckles and smatterings of magenta and fuchsia and gold and charcoal. Gorgeous!
Well, no, there are no beads in this shawl as originally knit. But if you would like to add some, I checked and size 6/0 beads will work fine with this yarn.
And so I am offering the option, via one of the drop-down menus above, to get (if you wish) a 20g container of 6/0 beads. That will give you about 240 beads. Of course, you will have to decide where to put them....
If you have a preference for color, let me know. Otherwise I will choose for you.
Reminder: you should purchase the pattern yourself directly here.
And that way you will end up with a pattern saved in your Ravelry library.
