A lovely scarf, designed to be lovely on men as well as women, part of Ilga Leja's Year of the Scarf designs.

She writes: "The interlocking stitch pattern of the main section recalls green layers over the expanse of a field, while the ruffled edging, with its pronounced knit-stitch ridges, isolates the individual rice stalks.

"The main section of the scarf is worked first in one piece and can serve as a scarf in its own right, without the edging. The ruffled edging, in the Accordion Pleat Stitch, is picked up and knit along each long side for that added touch of interest as it frames the face."

Level of Difficulty: Easy

Suggested Yarn: 550 m./600 yds. (1450 m./1585 yds.) of double knitting or light worsted weight yarn

We really love the Shibui Merino Kid that you can find on our Yarn pages -- a delicious dk weight that is 55% kid mohair/ 45% merino wool and absolutely lovely. Plus the colors are perfect! Go to our "Sport/DK Weight" section and have a glorious time picking the perfect yarn for this.
