Our original yarns sold out very quickly here.  I am putting this kit up again with other yarns -- in very similar colorways --- and hope you love it just as much!

The Design

When you have bound off your latest project and haven’t received all supplies for the next, or when you need a mindless yet not boring knit between two rather large projects, this may be your pattern. The pattern includes charts and graphs with block, triangle and line lace to suggest a lace placement. You can also combine them.

Intermezzo is an easy cowl pattern with some beads and a lace element, that can be placed and modified, just as you like it for your Intermezzo Cowl.

The Yarn

Rahymah knit the sample shown on this page (© Rahymah / Rahymah Handworks) using 250 yds, and ended up with a finished size of 52 cm (about 20", slightly more) circumference, 40 cm length (just shy of 16") (after blocking).  Our kits use a different yarn than she had -- these can be seen in the inset photos on the top picture and again below that.

She recommends planning anywhere from 250m to 400m (that's 270 yards to 440 yards) of fingering weight or light fingering.

Our current yarns are

Both of our kit yarns are Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sock, 80% superwash merino/20% nylon, with 430 yards per 100g skein.  So with one skein of either you will have well more yardage than needed and can make a signiicantly larger shawl if you so choose.

Curie is a soft dusty plum.

Carbon is a tonal blend of deep colors that together look like a deep charcoal but are actually made up of a mix including charcoal with aubergine and plum and even when I look closely a deep evergreen. The photo really does not capture the nuances here.

The photos of each skein show them with 6/0 beads scattered on the yarns (yours might be somewhat different), just to give you an idea of possibilities and so you can get a better idea of how the cowl will look all together.

The Beads

The number of beads needed for this is very variable, depending on how you place the lace and how big you'd like to knit the lace part.

So!

Each of our kits will include 25g of size 6/0 beads -- that gives you roughly 300 beads.  If you want more, contact us and we'll work it out with you.

If you have an idea of what color beads you'd like, tell me.  Otherwise I will choose for you.
