A most intriguing design by Tiziana Sammuri ,here we present kits with which to knit Lady in Gold.
The cost of the pattern has not been figured into this kit. The kit is simply yarn that we felt would look great with the design.
Get the pattern directly from Tiziana on her Ravelry page here.
Note that the pattern is in chart format and with line-by-line directions. On download page you find two PDFs, one with charts and another with the pattern in text format.
This is what Tiziana writes:
The “Lady in Gold” shawl is inspired by Klimt’s painting “Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer I”.
Knitted top down, this shawl features cables and easy lacy motifs.
Yarn and Colorway
The sample in the top picture has been knit with 752.4 yd - 688 m of fingering weight 50% silk/ 50% wool (436 yd – 400 m on 3.53 oz – 100 g) and needles size 3.5 mm - US size 4.
We present a different yarn. You can see what we have in the inset photo on the top picture and again below that.
It is from Gedifra, Lana Mia Uni, a 80% virgin superwash/ 20% nylon, with 429 yards/ 100g.
This yarn had an amazingly soft feel to it while being plied and great for showing stitchwork. Two cakes of yarn will be in each kit so you will have about 858 yards.
Gold is what the color is called and gold is what it looks like -- the gold of sunflowers and goldenrod; the gold of summer.
We are adding that option to the drop-down menu labeled Kits. You can choose to get the yarn only, of course, or an additional 35g (about 420 beads) of size 6/0.
If you have an idea of what color beads you would like, let me know . Otherwise I will choose for you.
