A wonderful set of wristlets -- with the added plus of using it as a tutorial for learning double-face knitting.

Yes!

From Chrissie, of Ursa Major Knits, comes these beautiful Lily Blossom Wristlets.

*****

The kits we offer here are made up of different yarns and different colors than Chrissie used for her original ones -- you can see the yarn we have put together in the inset photo on the top picture on this page and again below that.  Chrissie's original mitts are shown so you can see the design.

The Design

I quote Chrissie here: This piece of accessory is most satisfying because with just one knitted object you will have the benefit of four different looks.

You can wear the wristlets inside out and you can fold the cuff down, which will alter the general look. You can wear one wristlet inside out and the other one outside in. If you want to be even more adventurous and daring you can knit the second one as an inverted version using your color A as if it was color B and vice versa.

Plenty of options to have fun with.

This pattern will provide you with everything you need to know, as long as you can manage the basics. You will get photo tutuorials and written instructions as well as charted versions of the pattern.

Plus tutorials on two different cast ons, on special increases, on the best bind offs and so much more -- the pattern contains just about everything in between.

A classroom in a kit!

Yarn and Colorways

As all that you need yarn-wise to make these beauties is roughly 35 grams of two colorways of sock (fingering) weight yarn, the whole is a marvelous find!

Chrissie recommends a sock yarn with a gradient paired with a solid color yarn -- though two solid colors will also work beautifully and two gradients will as well.

What we have put together for our kits:

*****

Kit 1

(a) One ball of Louisa Harding's Amitola, in the brand-new colorway called Amour.  (Amitola is 80% Wool + 20% Silk with 273 yards/50g.)  The yarn is dyed in loooooong color runs, in this case including varying tones of violet, fuchsia, greens, chartreuse and gold.

(b) Two balls of Cashsilk Light from Laines du Nord.  This yarn is made up of 70% Merino Wool + 20% Silk + 10% Cashmere and each ball has 131 yards/25g.  To quote: "The delicate halo effect will wrap you in cloud-like comfort while keeping you warm." The colorway we have for this kit is Dark Gray, a deliciously soft charcoal.

*****

Kit 2:

(a) One ball of Amitola in Hook.  The main colors here are teal, aqua, and violet, indigo and fuchsia.

(b) Two balls of Cashsilk Light in Sea Foam, a delicate hue of pale blue-green.

*****

Either of these should make an amazingly dramatic beauty.

P.S. Chrissie also has designed a lovely Lily Blossom Cowl which can be paired with these wristlets but would require another set of these yarns. If you are interested in making that in a matching set, email me to check on availability of the yarns -- we'll set you up if we possibly can or talk about other possibilities.
