A most delightful sock pattern!

From Jennifer Dassau of the Knitting Vortex, here are a wonderful pair of socks, designed as (to quote Jennifer): "A tribute to the Quidditch players of Harry Potter’s Wizarding World, or to any sock-loving Muggle."

Big smiles here.

These are knit using slipstitch colorwork, which means that you only are using one color per round -- it is a wonderfully simple way of adding what looks like complex colorwork to your socks!

The yarn needed is fingering/sock weight, the original having been Madelinetosh Tosh Sock (100% superwash merino wool, 395 yards), 1 skein MC, 1 skein CC. Shown in Baltic (MC) and Ginger (CC). The size medium used about 237 yards in the main color (MC) and 80 yards in the contrast color (CC). So figure accordingly and chose sock colors that will appeal to you -- team colors, favorite colors, spring colors, whatever!

The designer rates the experience level needed as Intermediate. This pattern contains full written instructions, as well as charts for the slipstitch colorwork. And it is also written to cover three sizes, from a woman's size 6 shoe up to size 11; that covers a lot of feet.

Looks like a lot of fun, doesn't it? I know some not-so-magical beings around my house who will love them.
