Another marvelous crocheted creature from Megan Lapp, this smaller dragon is ready to fly into the hearts of young and old alike! :-)
Get the pattern directly from Megan on her Ravelry page here. What we offer is yarn plus safety eyes as needed to make this marvelous dragon.
Here is what Megan writes:
This pattern comes with instructions to make Miniature Dragons!!
There are THREE different styles of Miniature Dragons ALL IN ONE PATTERN. You can make a Wyrm (no arms or legs), a Wyvern (Just rear legs only), or a Dragon (Arms and Legs!)!
They’re quick to work up, and their favorite spot to snuggle is in your pocket.
This pattern features clear step by step instruction with a lot of row-by-row photos. The gauge is not crucial to the pattern as long as the stitches are tight enough to hold stuffing.
Yarn and Colorways
There are so many many ways you could go with crocheting this wonderful creature. What I decided is to simply offer one skein of a lovely yarn that you could use for the main parts of him (her?) -- you can embellish the piece as you wish with leftover bits of worsted weight yarn from other projects (which I suspect you might have in plenty).
Our yarn is from Juniper Moon Farm, a discontinued yarn but one that I really like. Called Dromedary, the yarn is 70% wool + 30% camel with 290 yards (266m)/ 100g. It is a light worsted weight (or heavy DK).
This is not the same yarn that Megan used in her original wyverns. You can see the yarns we have for this kit in the inset photo on the lower righthand corner of the top picture on this page and again below that.
It feels truly delicious.
We have a few solid-colors you can choose from:
Red Robin is a rich cool red.
Misty Lake is a medium gray. (Sorry, sold out.)
Falling Springs is a deep blue, close to navy.
Purple Petunia is a royal purple.
Emerald Forest is what it sounds like, a true green that is a bit on the dark side. (Sorry, sold out.)
And each kit will also include a pair of 12mm safety eyes.
If you would like to get some wire, we have a limited quantity of 18 gauge dark green wrapped 16" floral wire. Contact me and if we still have stock I can arrange with you a special web page to purchase it from.
(You will have to provide your own stuffing, duct tape, crochet hook, and darning needle.)
