This shawl really sings to me.  Truly, it hits all my buttons: colors, design and clear instructions.

Make sure to get your pattern for this Murrina Shawl directly from the designer on her Ravelry page here.  What we have put together are yarns that will knit up beautifully!

The Design

Here is what Stella Egidi writes about her shawl here:

Let’s play with colors and the endless plasticity of brioche stitch to create a modern, colorful and joyful huge shawl that will be a pleasure to wrap in!

This crescent shaped shawl is entirely worked in two-colors brioche stitch, alternating plain brioche with stripes where increases and decreases, together with alternating colors, create a beautiful design.

A chevron-like final garter section embellishes the bottom edge.

The Yarn and Colorways

We did not put together kits using the same yarn or colors that Stella used in her originals.  You can see what we have in the inset photo on the top picture and again below that.

What is needed is three colorways of fingering weight yarn, one skein each.

We brought in a brand-new yarn from Lana Grossa, called Meilenweit Merino, handdyed in Italy,of 80% Merino + 20% Nylon, and with 460 yards/ 100g.  Our kits consist of one skein each of two of these gorgeous skeins plus one other to act as a contrast and a foil.

Our kits (one skein each):

Kit A: (Sorry, sold out)

1. Meilenweit Merino in Sitar;  Tonal mix of mostly varieties of green, some light but most dark and cool, with evergreen, pine, green and some teal.

2. Meilenweit Merino in Goa: Variegated colorway including charcoal, gray, as well as spplashes fo neon colors like hot pink and lime and turquoise with speckles of black.

3.  From Malabrigo, Mechita (100% merino superwash with 420 yards/ 100g) in the almost-solid Water Green, a soft cool sea foam.

Kit B:

1. Meilenweit Merino in Kulfi: Variegated with deep hues including green and red, purple and black, fuchsia and gold.

2.  Meilenweit Merino in Masala:  Variegated but almost a tonal mix of varying borwns mixed with wines and with speckles of black.

3.  Manos Del Uruguay Fino, 70% merino/ + 30% silk with 490 yards/ 100g in the colorway called Havisham: Tonal melody of pinks and roses.

(The Fino makes this kit a bit more expensive.)

If (!!) you decide you would like to add beads to this beautiful shawl (and no, the designer doesn't have them as part of the pattern), we added an option to get a 20g container of 6/0s (that's about 240 beads) to the drop-down menu above labeled "Kit".

Let me know if you have a preference on bead color.  Otherwise I will choose for you.

And remember that you would be the one to decide where and when to add the beads.  Make this truly a unique a personal creation!
