Back in stock!
A while back we had found a strikingly gorgeous bead is the basis for our Mushroom bracelet.
Some of you will remember our Mushroom & Butterfly Bangle -- we've found various mushroom button beads that worked with it; some very unusual indeed. The ones we show on this webpage, those you see made up as a bracelet on the wrist, were really lovely but we were quite disappointed when we could no longer get them. I have continued to hunt and finally my search was rewarded!
The 9x8mm mushroom buttons you see in these bracelets were from the Czech Republic, and had a really amazing finish called "slipperit". I queried the bead importer for what "slipperit" means. He wrote that it is the name for the finish but he didn't know how it translated though thought it might have something to do with a copper look. Well, this look was really something and I was extremely upset when we could no longer get them.
And then! Tah dah! Sound the trumpets!
I was able to get some very similar mushroom beads. These new ones are somewhat different -- one has a base of white and a fantastic surface finish with gold and rose and purple. The other has a black base and the same glorious colors in the finish. (Neither of these seem to have that green background that the original ones had.)
Knit very simply, so as to highlight the mushroom buttons, it is finished off with a small but very powerful gold magnetic clasp (unless you tell me you would prefer a non-magnetic clasp). This is a great neat finishing piece -- it doesn't impose but it is very strong indeed.
We also offer the option of getting the kit with or without the pattern. It is basically the same one we used for the other Mushroom Bangle
Each kit will include plenty of the mushroom beads (at least 75) plus 8/0 beads, gold ones (looks great with both of these mushroom beads) plus gold thread, plus the magnetic clasp.
Everything else that you will need (except for the knitting needles) is part of the kit. You'll have enough beads to make a bracelet up to 9" long.
All you need to know how to do is how to cast on, to knit, and to cast off -- the rest is all explained. I used size 0 (2mm) needles for this.
You may choose your thread (and thus bead) choice via the drop-down menu above. Make sure it is set as you would like it before checking out.
Quite a striking piece, with these complementary colors -- it seems to glow all by itself.
