Abbey Phelps created a marvelous series of scarves, based on leaves, that she released throughout 2014.
Pasg is the Springtime one, originally released on the first day of spring, the Vernal Equinox.
The Design
Abbey writes: This is a quick and fun 1 skein project. Any color yarn will work and it would look great in self striping or color change yarn. Pasg is Welsh for palm. Palm Sunday falls in Spring and the pattern is reminiscent of the palm motif prevalent in the Art Deco style.
A beautiful creation in green and studded with beads, this scarf can be made in your choice of two sizes -- a smaller one that is roughly 48" x 10" (depending on how you block it) and a larger 96" x 10".

Yarn and Colorway
The original one that you see here was knit in Tosh Light. This is not one of the yarns we offer here. Our yarn can be seen in the inset photo on the top picture and again below it.
All that is needed is between 210 - 380 yards (192 - 347 m) of fingering weight yarn.
We have for this kit one skein of Ella Rae Lace Merino, a 100% merino, with 460 yards per 100g skein. This colorway is #149 and is a lovely variegated blend of olive, green, gray and charcoal.
One skein will have enough yardage for either size. The test knitters found that their large versions used between 350 and 380 yards, depending a bit on gauge, and the small version used about 210 to 230 yards. There is no need to worry about yardage though for as you knit you will be able to tell if you might be running a bit short and can leave out a repeat.
Beads
We have set one of the drop-down menus to offer two options for beads. The smaller scarf requires 62 grams of size 6/0 beads -- that is the "default" setting for this kit.
If you decide to knit the larger then you will need more beads, 100 grams, and the cost will increase slightly. Make sure the drop-down menu is set as you would like it to be.
So decide which size you plan to make and choose your bead quantities accordingly.
As you can see the original scarf Abbey knit used Silver Lined Crystal ones and they stand out beautifully. Alternatively, there are quite a few green ones that would look great with this yarn and give a more subtle look. I also like the Pewter Lined Crystals which will stand out as well but pick up the grays in the colorway.

The design also calls for a decorative button plus one small button to use to attach this decorative one. These are not part of the kit.
The kit consists of one skein of the yarn of your choice plus the beads needed to make a stunning piece.
The Pattern
Note that the kit will not automatically include the pattern. I know some knitters might prefer to get it directly as a PDF file of the pattern from Abbey via her Ravelry web page. We offer three options.
If you plan to get it via Ravelry, then choose "No Pattern Needed." If you would like a printed copy, please make sure the "Pattern" drop-down menu is set to that. We also can email the pattern to you via email. Just make sure that drop-down menu is set as you would like before you check out.

To sum up: there are three drop-down menus to set as you make your choices: for the yarn you want, for the amount of beads you want and for the form of the pattern.
