Passaggio is an intriguing knit by Mary Annarella.

Please be sure to get your pattern directly from the designer on her Ravelry page here. What we have put together are yarn kits for this wrap.

The Design

Here is what the designer writes:

Passaggio (Puh-SAH-Joe, Italian for “passage”) is knit in a way that seamlessly transitions from one area to the next...

Worked as 3 connected triangles, the result is a full-size, seamless, trapezoid shawl that is a bit of a puzzle to tell which direction(s) it was knit from. Joining just a few sts with Kitchener stitch is required to seal the deal, although you can easily do a 3-needle bind off of these sts instead.

The garter stitch makes for a relaxing project, while the eyelet stripes and multidirectional construction keep things fun.

The Yarn and Colorways

We have not used the same yarns as Mary Annarella used in her original. You can see what we have in the inset photos on the top picture and again below that.

What is needed is a solid (or tonal) of 790 yards fingering weight yarn and smaller amounts of five colors; the designer writes that the approximate yardage for the 5 contrasting colors (CC) are CC1 (14 yds), CC2 (18 yds), CC3 (72 yds), CC4 (36 yds), CC5 (45 yds).

So what we have put together for each kit is two skeins of the delicious Herriot Fine from Juniper Moon Farm, made up of 75% Baby Alpaca, 25% Nylon and with 461 yards/ 100g.  The colorway is a soft grey called Travertine.

With it we have added five mini-skeins of KFI's Teenie Weenie Wool, each of 75% wool/ 25% nylon and with 44 yards/ 10g ball.  So we picked out five colors and will include one of four and two of one in your kit:  Ivory, Sand, Mauve, Orchid, and Sky.  (If you have a preference for which one you would like two of, let me know.  We can do any except for Mauve. Otherwise I will choose for you.)
