Louisa Harding has some new stunning colorways in her Pittura yarns. Pittura is a 75% Wool, 25% Viscose with approximately 437 yards per 100g skein.
It feels lovely. What makes it extra special is the colorways -- they have been designed around the paintings of some very amazing artists. And the mix of colors are truly outstanding.
Guernica is named after Pablo Picasso's Guernica, a mural-sized oil painting which is regarded by many art critics as one of the most moving and powerful anti-war paintings in history.
Interestingly, the original painting was done all in neutral colors of black, gray, and white. The Guernica colorway here is a striking song of colors, including blues and violets and pinks with some rust and gold as well.
Louisa also has put together some really lovely patterns that require only one skein of Pittura to create. And they are currently being offered on Ravelry. These are beautiful, truly, and perfect with this yarn.
Albertine is a small wrap with lacework and a unique triangle bind-off.
Honesty is a lovely cowl, with simple stitchwork making for an elegant piece.
Rose is again a cowl, with an intriguing twist.
