This is not really a kit except that it is. :-)
Well, we have here a delicious yarn that you can use for anything but I highly recommend the pattern I used. So we are listing it both as a yarn and as a kit.
An absolutely scrumptous yarn from Malabrigo, Mecha is classified as a bulky weight, having 130 yards (120m) per 100g skein. It is 100% superwash merino, a single-ply.
I quote from Malabrigo here:
A rare single-ply superwash yarn! Our superwash merino takes color in the most vivid, rich way, and nowhere is that more apparent than in the multi-layered hues of Mecha! Soft as always, Mecha has a slight thick-and-thin texture, a fantastic loft, and is the perfect size for quick but not-too-heavy projects
This colorway is called Polar Morn and is an almost-solid gray with blue-ish overtones. It has an amazing luminosity to it; hard to describe, gorgeous to see.
I took one skein and made my son this great hat using the Chunky Walnut pattern by Katrin Schubert.
The CHUNKY WALNUT hat pattern is first of all an easy, well-fitting knit-one-purl-one pattern. It´s a fast knit with chunky- weight wool yarn, perfect for a last-minute knitted gift.
Love the seamless transition from ribbed brim to lace pattern and the crown decreases, which are part of the pattern too. The CHUNKY WALNUT hat is worked up quickly and fully reversible. Two versions are given: with a single brim as a modern beanie or a longer brim to be folded over (using up a complete skein of yarn).
Wear the WALNUT hat for impenetrable warmth and for a hip accessory. Wear it one way out or the other, cuffed or uncuffed and slouchy…
If this appeals to you as much as it did me, get the pattern directly from Katrin on her Ravelry page here. I found one skein was enough for me to make a hat that he loves!
This web page offers the yarn by the skein.
