This is a beautiful beaded shawl, the finished shape of which is less than a full circle though more than a semi-circle. It is knit from the neck down, using either a heavy lace weight or a light fingering weight yarn and uses a simple crochet bind-off.

The original yarn used by the designer, Anne-Lise Maigaard, was 100g Zitron Filisilk (70% merino, 30% silk) 656 yards (600m)/100g. However, we have successfully seen it knit to a beautiful result in light fingering weight as well as other lace weight yarns. Figure yardage in that general range and you should be fine.

The beads recommended for this shawl are size 8 beads: 252 beads for the first beaded section (the leaves), 552 beads for the second beaded section and 178 beads for the edge. In all 982 beads.

The beads are optional, or you can choose to bead only one or two sections as you wish.

Anne-Lise's orginal ended up after blocking to be 20’’ deep and inner circle is 55’’ (50 cm deep and inner circle is 140 cm).

A truly lovely creation.
