Susan Pandorf has done it again. A beautiful lace stole, part of her Two Towers Collection, this one is called Ringwraith.

Here is what Susan writes:

The Nazgûl came again … like vultures that expect their fill of doomed men’s flesh. Out of sight and shot they flew, and yet were ever present, and their deadly voices rent the air. More unbearable they became, not less, at each new cry. At length even the stout-hearted would fling themselves to the ground as the hidden menace passed over them, or they would stand, letting their weapons fall from nerveless hands while into their minds a blackness came, and they thought no more of war, but only of hiding and of crawling, and of death. — The Return of the King

The pattern has both written and charted directions. It uses twisted stitches - designed by Susan to be definitely delightfully evil. She says: "You can even see the dragon wings in the lace pattern and it undulates like the tail of the beast."

All that is require, besides a great spirit of adventure, is 1200 yards fingerng weight yarn to make a stole that is 72" x 18". Beads are optional -- the knitter can decide to sew the ones of her choice onto the bottom edge.

One suggestion that struck me was to use the larger dagger beads as these "teeth" along the edging. So if that appeals to you too, just email me and we can talk about the ones we have in stock here. Many of our best ones can be seen in the various jewelry kits and aren't on the website as themselves. I'd have no problem working with you on this.

I also like the Rick Rack and the Zig Zag rayon yarns we just got in for this. I think they would look marvelous.
