We don't put together kits often enough for our crocheters -- and I do apologize. This one just sings to me and makes me want to dust off my hooks and dig in.

By Lily Go, here is what she writes about the cowl, Road to Yesterday:

Road to Yesterday is a crocheted cowl worked in the round.

With textured body, and trim with beautiful lace, you can make this cowl in any weight of yarn. You can get a cozy and warm cowl with heavier yarn for fall or winter, or dainty and lacey piece with lighter weight yarn to create a dramatic effect to your outfit.

As with all my other patterns, this pattern comes with row-by-row written direction in US crochet term and charts.

Yarn and Colorways

Well, Lily writes that it can be crocheted in any lace, fingering or DK weight yarn. So what we have put together are some kits in DK weight yarns plus beads to work with them.

Lily has written the pattern so you can make it your choice of eight lengths.

Yardage needed for 20 (24, 28, 32, 36, 40, 44, 48)“ / 50 (60, 70, 80, 90, 100, 110, 120) cm circumference: in DK weight: 185(225, 265, 300, 335, 370, 410, 450) m / 200 (250, 290, 330, 370, 405, 450, 495) yards.

Our yarn is a light DK (close to sport weight) the Ella Rae Lace DK, with 100% merino,  302 yards/100g. You can see it in the inset photos on the right side of the top picture and again below that.

1.  One colorway is called Purple Dust and is a lovely lilac with very subtle variations.

2. The second one is a multi-colored beauty of gold and orange and lime.  We are calling it Summer Sunset

So one skein will allow you to make the first three sizes (lengths) of cowl.  If you would like to make a longer cowl, simply go with two kits.

Lily suggests size 6/0 beads for this weight yarn:  70 (84, 98, 112, 126, 140, 154, 168) beads depending on the size.

Each of our kits will include well over 100 size 6/0 beads.  (Again, for a longer cowl, two kits will give you plenty of beads).

If you have a preference on bead color, tell me.  Otherwise I will choose for you.

The Pattern

Note also that the kit will not automatically include the pattern and the cost of the pattern has not been figured into the cost of the kit.

I know some knitters prefer to get it directly as a PDF file of the pattern from Lily via her Ravelry web page. In that case, make sure the drop-down menu is set to "No Pattern Needed."

It can also be found on Lily's Etsy shop.

If you get the pattern directly from Lily via either Ravelry or Etsy, set our drop-down menu to "No Pattern Needed" as you will not need it sent with your kit.

Alternatively, if you would like a printed copy, then the "Pattern" drop-down menu should be set to that.

We also can email the pattern to you via email (just be aware that it is not automatic; I have to manually send it to you so it might take a bit of time for me to get to it).
