What a great design!
Small Fair Isle bands are knit in the round in sock/fingering weight yarns to form a tube. Then simply join the beginning and end edges to form a circle, and fling this colorful cowl neck scarf "roundabout" your neck to brighten your day.
Skill level is intermediate.
The finished size will be 26" in circumference x 8.5" in width (when folded in half). Both the width and circumference can be adjusted easily to fit your needs.
The original here was done in Shelridge Farm's fingerign weight yarn -- though any fingering weight will work. Figure on about 175 yards each of five colors. This was worked with a circular needle of size 2.5mm (US 2) to get a gauge of 28 stitches and 37 rows to 4".
A great way to practice fair isle knitting -- a small palette that yields a magnificent result.
Such warmth, in all senses of the word!
