Saturday is a most intriguing hat design by Pink Araiguma.
Make sure to get your pattern directly from the designer on her Ravelry page here. What we have put together are some kits that will help you knit something really lovely!
Here is what Tami, the designer, writes:
One day, my aunt told me that staying at home everyday makes her unable to tell what day is today … a simple reason for me to design Seven Brioche Hats for A WEEK.
The patterns are named Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. They are not by order of difficulty but the order that I finished the designs.
A WEEK consists of basic Brioche Knitting skills (brk, brp, brRsl & brLsl & br4st dec, brkyobrk, br4st inc … brioche cable stitches, tuck stitches). In addition, I re-arranged some stitches (ss-brk, pyop, pyo2p …) for the patterns.
Yarn and Colorways
Written for DK weight yarn, we put together a kit to knit this in. The yarns and colors are not the same as the original ones -- you can see our kit in the inset photo in the bottom right-hand corner on the top picture.
Our kits, one skein of each:
1. From Malabrigo, Rastita is a pure merino wool, slightly felted, with 310 yards (285m) per 100g skein. This colorway is called Peacock and is a variegated blend of purples, blacks and teals.
2. Our second yarn is also from Malabrigo, named Susurro. It is made up of 50% mulberry silk + 25% merino + 25% linen and has an amazing sheen to it. Each skein has 325 yards (297m)/ 100g. This colorway is an almost-solid called Water Green, a puire sea green that contrasts beautifully with Peacock.
