This one really appeals to me. A beautiful new wrap design by Maureen Mason-Jamieson, this one uses the most intriguing Shadow knitting techniques to create a most uniquely lovey (but not difficult) shawl.

To quote Maureen: "If you can knit, purl, and count to 10, you can make a shadow pattern scarf, wrap, or blanket. "

Ha! I can do that!

The photo to the right shows the wrap when viewed at a slight angle. The one below shows it viewed from a slightly different perspective -- such is the "magic" of Shadow knitting.

What you'll need is some light worsted weight yarn --- one that gives about 200 yards per 100 grams of yarn would be ideal. The scarf needs 200 yards of each color, the wrap needs 400 yards each and the blanket would need 1000 yards of each color -- the original here was knit using turquoise as the main color and misty blue as the contrast.

The gauge is 17 stitches and 26 rows to 4" (10 cm). The project is knit at a loosened gauge so it will drape.

This one sings!
