From Sweet Georgia Yarns, here is a lovely sock blank in their new Cherry Blossom colorway.
What is a sock blank?
A sock blank comes machine knit in a Stockinette stitch tube.
To work, you would pull one end from the tube to unravel. You may wish to work straight from the tube or wind it into a ball / cupcake.
Sock blanks provide a unique way to dye colour gradients seamlessly as they are dyed directly on the knitted fabric.
Knitting or crocheting from a sock blank is “crinkly,” but the crinkles block out perfectly for a smooth, beautiful finish, ensuring you have a magical colour-changing experience.
Each blank is 80% superwash merino wool, 20% nylon 425 yards / 388 m per 4 oz / 115g skein
Here I quote:
Cherry blossoms seem to explode into bright, rich colour overnight. Shocking the winter senses awake, beautiful blossoms of red, pink, and cream take over the landscape before giving way into decadent spring leaves.
Our studio team has captured that sweet springtime allure with our newest sock blank, Cherry Blossom. The gradient of burgundy to green, in a fingering-weight yarn, promises an enchanting transition into warmer weather for any fibre-craft projects.
This is a limited-edition sock blank colourway.
