Here is a lovely new design by  Justyna Lorkowska.  Here is how she describes her Soul Warmer:

Speckles of playful color on a wintry background of silvers and greys remind us that spring will come again. But while you’re waiting, this sampler-like cowl will engage your mind and senses as you experiment with colors and create a variety of textures. So fun to knit, you’ll be sorry to see it end…until you put it on and let it warm you deep within.

The design was written especially to use those sets of mini skeins of yarn which seem to be very popular right now. The instructions can easily be adjusted to use each mini till the very end.

The cowl pattern is written so as to make one size:  approx. 60 cm/24” circumference and 43 cm/17” high.

The original cowl was knit using one set of Martin’s Lab Mini Bundle (100% merino; 6 x 73m/80y per 20g) but Justyna says that any other fingering weight yarn in six colors, giving the correct gauge, would be fine.

And indeed we are not offering the same yarn nor colorway that she used.  You can see what we have in the inset photos on the top picture and again below that.  The other photos, of Justyna's original piece, are here to showcase the design itself.

We have some great sets from Done Roving of their Frolicking Feet Mini-Gradients, 100% domestic superwash merino, with 6 skeinettes per bag, each of 100 yards.  The colors are especially chosen to go well together and gradually change as the cowl is knit.

1. Sweet Georgia Peach is a wonderful blend of vibrant colors -- reminds me of a Hawaiian garden -- going form a pale to deep orange increasing intensity in each skein and then switching to some rich roses, again light to deep.  This will add spark to the dull winter colors for sure for sure.

2.  Spring Lilacs is a more subdued gradient going from ecrus mixed with browns into delicate lilac, both light and deep. (Sorry, sold out)
