The Stefania Shawl by Svetlana Gordon is another of her really intriguing designs.

*****

Be sure to get the pattern directly from the designer, available on her Ravelry page here What we have put together are kits that will make a most lovely piece (the cost of the pattern has not been factored in)....

Stefania is a shawl created in quite a unique way.  Svetlana took a colorway with long color runs, divided it into its color parts, and knit what is in essence a modular piece knit with short rows to create a lovely impression of leaves.

The directions are very clear.

She lists as needed about 70g of an almost-solid fingering weight yarn (roughly 310 yards) as Yarn A plus about 250 grams total of at least four colorways (that would be about 1,100 yards divided into four colors) as Yarn B

This amount of yarn made a shawl that measures  200 cm wide x 50 cm high.  That "translates" into inches as almost 79" x almost 20".

Our kits do not use the same yarn as what Svetlana used in her originals. Instead of offering a Yarn B with long color runs that you would need to cut apart, we have put together kits using sets of Zauber Perlen.

Made up of 100% Virgin Merino Wool, the yarn set gives you 440 yards (400m) per 100g ring.  Each ring is composed of 7 mini-ball collection which isolates each color within a gradient.

(The color change is achieved by slowly adding more plies of the next color to the ball and then more to the next and then more to the next until all the plies are the last color.)

Each kit will give you 3 rings for a total of 1,320 yards to use as Yarn BIf you would prefer a smaller kit, just contact me and I will set you up with one.

For Yarn A, we will give you an almost-solid yarn as described below for each kit.

*********

Kit #1 and Kit #2 use the same Yarn A, Juniper Moon's Moonshine Fine in the colorway named Dew, a medium gray.  The yarn is made up of 30% baby alpaca + 30% wool + 25% nylon + 15% silk.  It feels awesome!  One 100g skein gives 437 yards (400m).

Kit #1: (Sorry, sold out)

Yarn A: one skein Dew in Moonshine Fine

Yarn B: three rings of Zauber Perlen in #2418: this is a play on fuchsia and black, running from one rich and deep end to the other.

Kit #2:

Yarn A: one skein of Dew in Moonshine Fine

Yarn B: three rings of Zauber Perlen #2414: goes from bright fuchsia gradually into a Capri blue.

                       **********

Kits #3 and #4 use the same Yarn A.  This is Smooshy Cashmere from Dream in Color and is made up of 70% superwash merino + 20% cashmere + 10% nylon and with 400 yards per 4 oz skein.  The colorway is called Fable and is a cream with splashes and splatters of green, blue and gold.

Kit #3:

Yarn A: one skein of Smooshy Cashmere in Fable

Yarn B: three rings of Zauber Perlen in colorway #2419: goes from a bright yellow through what may look like green but is really just the gradual addition of more and more blue turquoise until it ends in a rich sea blue,

Kit #4:

Yarn A: one skein of Smooshy Cashmere in Fable

Yarn B: three rings of Zauber Perlen in colorway #2413: moves from white through to the rich turquoise of the Caribbean Sea.
