This striking design, Sunflowers by Andree Beddoe,  has all sorts of intriguing bits and pieces, sure to keep you very very interested.

Be sure to get the pattern directly from her Ravelry page. What we have here is the yarn and beads as described below.

Sunflowers even comes with its very own KAL here!

The Design

Here is what Andree writes:

Sunflowers is a unique and fun knit. It offers a lot of variety, so you don’t get bored with any one section, and you learn a lot in the process.

This design can be worn as a scarf or a shawl, and comes in one generous size that can be wrapped around the body twice in most cases.

The shape is also unique, a very elongated arching shape, with the uniqueness coming from the way Sunflowers is worked - a master class in shaping….

Yarn and Colorways

Knit of fingering weight yarn in four colorways, we have selected different yarns than what Andree used in her original piece.

You can see what we offer for these kits in the inset photo on the top picture and again below that.  Photos of Andree's original shawl are shown so you can see the design well.

What Andree used was
A, brown, 320yds/295m
B. teal, 275yds/250m
C, yellow, 110ysd/100m
D, multi-color, 215yds/195m

Our A, B, and C yarns are all from Manos del Uruguay, the Alegria yarn of 75% superwash merino wool/ 25% nylon and 445 yards (405m) per 100g skein.

A. Instead of brown, we went for a deep Oxblood which is the color you might get if you mixed deep dark magenta and chocolate brown.  Looks wonderful for this.

B.  For the Teal, we went with Teal! (Doh!) A rich almost-solid that duplicates Andree's pick beautifully.

C.  Our substitution for Andree's yellow is a colorway is called Tumeric, again an almost-solid of goldenrod yellow-gold.

D.  This was the hardest to find, a multi-color that drew together all of the other three.  We found it in Malabrigo's Mechita (100% superwash merino with 420 yards (385m) per 100g skein), colorway Carnival.  This is a variegated speckled yarn which has the speckles mirroring the golds and teals and oxblood as well as other gorgeous fiesta colors.

Beads

Size 6/0 beads are used in the sunflowers and on the border, but they are optional. Instructions are provided for both options.

Our kit will include beads.

What are used are 252 beads in amongst the sunflowers and 470 for the border.

We offer two options. Choose from the drop-down menu under the top photo.

We can give you the same color of beads for both.  Andree used golden beads.  We can duplicate that for quite a lovely look or if you'd prefer, give you another color. This will give you about 60 grams of size 6/0 beads.

Or we can give you two separate colors of beads, one for the sunflowers and the other for the border.  Each would mirror one of the yarn colors.  You will get roughly 20g of one color of 6/0 beads and 40g of the other.

If you have a preference on colors, tell me.  Otherwise I will choose for you.
