By Natalia Moreva, we have put together kits for her new Sunshine!
Please be sure to get your pattern directly from Natalia here. We offer only the yarn for this kit.
Here is what Natalia has to say about this shawl:
This shawl is worked in two steps.
The main part of it is a wide zigzag panel, which is worked sideways.
The stitches for the shawl center are picked up along the top edge of zigzag stripe.
The Yarn and Colorways
Our yarns are not the same as what the designer used for her original piece. You can see our yarns in the inset photo on the bottom of the top picture and again below that.
Natalia recommends that one use fingering or sport weight yarn, three colorways.
Color A – shown in her original piece as the color of the sun (star); shown yellow, must be a solid color. You will need 440m (which is 481 yards).
Color B – this is what she used as the color of the sky; shown blue, one needs the same amount of yardage. .
And Color C – makes up the small rays at the outer edge. Natalia says one can use a gradient, speckled or variegated colorway for this one. All that is needed is 240 meters (263 yards).
For Colors A and B, we have the new Perennial from Kelbourne Woolens. This yarn feels really delicious; its fiber content is 60% superwash merino/ 25% suri alpaca/ 15% nylon and it has 497 yards (454m)/ 100g skein.
Our Color C is from the KFI Collection: Indulgence Fingering, hand-painted extrafine merino superwash wool (a 75/ 25 merino/ nylon blend) with 494 yards/100g.
For Color A: Gold ( a rich and deep yellow)
For Color B: Dark Teal (a rich blue teal)
Color C: Carnival in Rio: on a cream background, some speckles and some sections of colors including a greener teal, purple, fuchsia, orange and olive.
Your kit will include one skein of each.
Fun and oh-so-very-intriguing to knit!
