I just had to put together more kits for this beauty.

This is a wonderfully unique design by Andree Beddoe.  Sweet Peas allows you to play with beads to create a most intriguing look.

Please note:  This web page offers a kit composed of yarn and beads.  You must get the pattern directly from the deisgner on her Ravelry page

The Design

Here is what Andree writes:

Sweet Peas is a rectangular scarf designed using my own Beaded Stacked Increase (BSI) technique to paint the meandering leaves over a stockinette background worked in a different color.

The scarf starts on the long edge with a provisional cast-on.

Size is easily adjustable. In this design, you knit one color at a time.

Note that you can access her Beaded Stacked Increase (BSI) video here

The Yarn and Colorways

As all that is needed is fingering weight yarn with a high contrast.  To duplicate the size and shape that Andree did her original one in, she recommends:
A (main): 322yds/288m
B (leaf): 255yds/238m

We are not offering the same yarn nor colorways that Andree used in her original scarves.  You can see our kit in the upper righthand corner of the top photo on this page (the insert picture) and again below that.  The photos of Andree's scarves are here (with her permission) to show you the design well and allow you to picture the look.

Each of our kits will include one skein of Herriot Fine.  This is an absolutely delicious 75% baby alpaca/ 25% nylon yarn from Juniper Moon Farm, with 461 yards (420m) per 100g skein.

We thought this would be perfect for the main colorway, the alpaca being soft and snuggly next to the skin and also being super-warm.  However, there is enough in either skein in each kit to serve as either main or contrast colorway so feel free to switch it around to suit your own aesthetic taste.

Our Kit:

1.  For the Herriot Fine skein we have Merlot Red, a rich wine color with very subtle changes of hue in the plies.

2.  For the contrast skein, we are including from Madeline Tosh one skein of Tosh Sock, a plied 100% merino, with 395 yards (381m)/100g.  The colorway we have selected is called Marfa.  This is again variegated, this time with more solid spans of color with dashes and dots and speckles on a cream background, the highlights being mainly wines and golds.

Perfect together.

The Beads

Yes, beads are an integral part of this design and your kit will include well more than you need of 6/0 beads.

Andree lists 280 size 6/0 beads (or 4 beads per repeat/leaf) as required; your kit will have about 25 grams which will give you rougly 300 beads.

You will notice in the photos of Andree's original scarf that she chose a very contrasting bead color.  Tell me if this appeals to you as well and I'll select one that will definitely stand out.  Otherwise I might pick one that mirrors the yarns colors more.  (Personally, with these colors I really like gold beads which would pick up the gold in the Marfa.)

If you have a preference on bead color, do let me know.  Otherwise I will choose for you.

So your kit will include one skein of each colorway in the kit you have chosen, and at least 25g of 6/0 beads.

Reminder: You must get the pattern directly from the deisgner on her Ravelry page
