From the needles of Anna Victoria, here is her Sylan Lace Shawl.
Please get the pattern directly from Anna on her Ravelry page here. This kit includes yarn and beads only for knitting it.
So they laughed and sang in the trees; and pretty fair nonsense I daresay you think it. Not that they would care; they would only laugh all the more if you told them so. They were elves of course. –J.R.R.Tolkien
Crescent shape shawl knitted top down. Inspired by the shady forest realm of the Elves.
This is a real beauty!
Be aware though: it uses charts only (no row-by-row written description) and is not resizable except if you change the needle size and gauge.
What we have is different than what Anna used in her original piece. You can see what we offer in the inset photos on the top picture and again below that. The other photos of Anna's original shawl are here with her permission and to show the design.
Our kits have, from Freia Yarn, the lovely Ombre Merino Lace, each cake of 100% cruelty-free merino wool and having 712 yards (651 meters) per 75g. This yarn has been dyed with very long color runs.
Per Anna's Ravelry page, she used 461.7 meters (505.0 yards) and 866 beads for her lovely shawl (shown here). She notes that her testers used up to 656 yards/ 600m of yarn as the size of the mesh may differ and consumes a large amount of yarn at a large gauge. One ball of this Freia Lace should be plenty.
The kits are set up with one cake of the colorway of your choice.
Mist is a lovely soft gray into deeper gray into teal (or vice versa). This is a soft and delicate color, reminiscent of a foggy evening and quite lovely.
Vertigo is rich tones of eggplant into teal into green into gold into brown (or the other way around). This is a vibrant colorway, one of my favorites, as it sings songs of color.
For beads, we will include about 1,000 size 8/0 beads (25 grams). This will be included in your kit. If you have a preference for bead color, tell me. Otherwise I will choose for you, usually a color that mirrors one or more colors in the yarn colorway.
Reminder: the pattern should be purchased directly from Anna on her Ravelry page here.
