The Design

Here is what Sylvie writes: 

A long fairy / elf hood for fall walks in the woods….

Thick puff brim with crocheted lining for volume and added warmth.

Pattern is explained in 2 sizes for a smaller or larger hood.

Smaller size could also make a larger hood for kids…

The Yarn and Colorways

What is needed is between 341 yards/312m (smaller size) and 418 yards/ 382m (larger size) of Aran weight yarn.  

This is not the same yarn as what Sylvie used for her original. The inset photo on the top picture as well as the two photos below that show the yarn in our kits.

Her originals used Kureyon from Noro.  What we have for our kits is also a Noro yarn. Okunoshima is made up of 35% silk + 28% wool + 20% angora + 17% mohair.  Can you just imagine how lovely it feels, especially after a good wash when the yarn really blooms? 

Each "dragon ball" gives 242 yards (221 meters) so two balls will make up each kit here. 

The colorways run with the long color spans that Noro is famous for.  Each colorway is not named but given a number. 

We offer Colorway #9: Cool aquas in varying tones plus some royal blue and sand.
