When I noticed that one of the yarn sets that Irina Eberhardt recommends for her new Take Me To St Patrick's Parade shawl was Katia Ombré, well how could I not offer this?

The Design

Here is what Irina writes:

Take Me to St.Patrick’s Parade is a asymmetric triangular shawl, knitted from side to side.

The shawl knitted in a rib pattern, which has distinctive central ridge which gives the charm to the shawl, makes it extra soft, squishy and warm.

This is a double sided pattern, which makes even more desirable for the scarf. This is an adjustable pattern, so, the shawl could be as long as the knitter desires, just making enough repeats of the mane pattern.

To the desire of the knitter the shawl could be wider without the scallops along the edge. Just, simply, skip the bind off part for the scallops.

St. Patrick’s Parades are in March when the weather is still unpredictable sometimes it is warmer than other, sometimes it is cool or even cold, it is never extra to have some wrap.

The Yarn and Colorways

Now the original piece you see here was knit using a different yarn -- Irina writes that she knit it of Wonderland Yharn Cheshire Cat - super soft, 100% Merino yarn.

Our kits offer thiese yarn sets from Katia.  The yarn is 100% extrafine merino.  Each of these is a set of 6 yarns in graduated colors, totaling 150g, each smaller skein being 25g/92 yards.   So you will end up with 552 yards which should work very well for this.

We have limited quantities in four colorways.  Make your choice from the drop-down menu and have a wonderful time.

Violets: This one runs from a pink into lavender to jam to amethyst to mulberry to raisin (I hope my names communicate.)

Blues:  From lightest to darkest, the range is from a pale arctic blue through an increase in tone to run through lapis and azure into a navy.

Grays: From a pale cloud color, into deeper hues of dove and smoke and pewter and charcoal and finally ending in black.

Reds:  This set starts wtih a deep red-orange and greadually deepens to a true red and then darker into ruby and garnet and finally a mulberry that is runs into the purple family.

The pattern is not automatically part of the kit.

If you so choose, you can get the pattern on Irina's Ravelry page.  This will give you a copy in your Ravelry library and automatically receive any updates. In this case, set the drop-down menu above to "No Pattern Needed."

If you would prefer a printed copy or a PDF via email, please select that option via the "Pattern" drop-down menu. The PDF file will be emailed right before your kit is shipped.
