A beautiful new creation by Anne-Lise Maigaard!
Anne-Lise describes this thusly:
The shawl is worked from one corner to the other, first increasing, then decreasing. You will have very few stitches to cast on in the beginning and the bind off is worked in stages.
Yarn and Colorways
We did not put together kits using the same yarn as what Anne-Lise used in her original. She recommends anywhere between 500 - 800 yards (457 - 732 m) and so each of our kits will include two skeins of Juniper Moon Farm's Moonshine Fine.
Moonshine Fine is made up of 30% baby alpaca + 30% wool + 25% nylon + 15% silk. It feels awesome! One 100g skein gives 437 yards (400m) so the two in your kit will give you about 874 yards.
The shawl looks great in a solid color yarn and these are what we can offer is a lovely kit in Dew, a cool medium grey
The beads are optional but we will be including them in each kit.
Anne-Lise used 285 beads in her original and recommends either 6/0, 4x4 cubes or 5/0 triangles.
We will give you more than you need.
The beads might mirror the color of the yarn you choose or it might contrast strikingly. If you have a preference on bead color (or shape), let me know. Otherwise I will choose for you.
The kit will not automatically include the pattern and has not been figured into the cost.
Knitters can get it directly as a PDF file of the pattern from Anne-Lise via her Ravelry web page. Then you will automatically get any updates and also have a copy saved in your Rav library. In that case, set the "Pattern" drop-down menu to "No Pattern Needed."
Or you can get a printed copy, sent along with your kit. Make sure the drop-down menu is set to that. There are two versions (both will be printed out for you) -- one is charts only and one is written directions only.
We also can email the pattern to you as a PDF via email (please be aware that it is not automatic; I have to manually send it to you and generally do that right before shipping your kit).
Just make sure that drop-down menu is set as you would like before you check out.
