Wow and wow again.
By the masterful designer, Kieran Foley , Teardrop is a beautiful beaded piece that will keep your interest and allow you to make a most striking wrap, either triangular or rectangular.
Alas, we cannot offer the pattern ourselves (and thus the cost of the pattern has not been included in the kit price).
Get the pattern directly from Kieran on his Ravelry page here.
What we have put together is lovely yarn plus beads for knitting this with.
Note that when you get this pattern you will also get a bonus chart for the rectangular version of the wrap. That shape can be seen here.
The pattern will give you directions for this lovely shawl composed of intriguing stitchwork and beads that you add with a thin 1mm crochet hook.
Kieran's original was knit using a 4mm/US6 needle wiand about 20g/300m/330yds of Zegna Baruffa Cashwool Extra Fine Merino, color 20426 charcoal grey.
That gave him finished dimensions after blocking of approximately 45x23ins/115x59cm.
Note that the size is easily adjustable by adding or subtracting repeats and/or changing needle size and/or yarn weight.
Yarn and Colorway
We have not put together kits with the exact yarn that Kieran used for his original. Instead we have a lovely laceweight yarn from Juniper Moon Farm called Findley Dappled. This is a 50/50 blend of wool and silk with 798 yards/ 100g.
You can see our yarn in the upper righthand corner of the top photo and again below that.
One ball of this yarn will give you plenty of yarn for expanding the size if you so choose.
The colorway is Laguna Bay and is a lovely variegated mix of purple and indigo, sky blue and charcoal and some lovely pops of gold.
Kieran's original used 110 size 6/0 beads -- his were clear crystal.
Our kits will include some extras and most likely in a bead color to mirror one of the colors in the yarn. If you have a preference, tell me . Otherwise I will choose for you.
