The curved organic lines of the Art Nouveau school really appeal to me. So when Rose Beck put out a new shawl that played with this look, I was really hooked.

Here is how Rose describes The Sinuous Line:

Art Nouveau was marked by novel lines: lines that flowed, lines that moved and curved back upon themselves, sensuous and sinuous lines. Inspiration for these lovely lines was found abundantly in nature, from branches and roots to flower petals and insect wings. It was even evident in the flowing of a maiden’s long hair.

This top-down triangle shawl catches the beauty of the sinuous line. The body is marked by simple vertical eyelet lines that transform into the undulating lace edge, which is worked on both right and wrong sides.

I love it.

Both charted and written instructions are provided and Rose rates the needed skill level at intermediate to advanced.

The pattern gives you two possible sizes for this beauty -- Medium (Large): 48 (60) inches wide x 20 (28) inches deep (after blocking).

All that you need is 400 (700) yards of fingering weight yarn.

A wonderful piece to knit. This one appeals to me greatly.
